Hannah Sweeney

Hannah K. Sweeney

Associate Attorney

Hannah joined Pavich Law Group, P.C. in 2015 and currently focuses her practice on medical malpractice, wrongful death, and personal injury cases. When Hannah began working at Pavich Law Group as a file clerk, she developed a strong interest in analyzing medical records to understand and appreciate medical diagnoses and procedures. She quickly came to understand the power of the law to advance the values of advocacy and equity she cared deeply about. She continued to serve as the firm’s medical paralegal while attending law school. As such, she was the first point of contact for all medical records held by the firm for its clients and advanced her medical knowledge while obtaining her law license.

Building on that knowledge as an attorney, Hannah finds that understanding the connections between medicine and law is crucial to her multifaceted practice, from assessing personal injury cases to tackling complex medical malpractice litigation. Hannah is passionate about protecting and advocating for individuals who have suffered from another’s negligence. She finds that carefully and respectfully building relationships with clients allows them to share their difficult experiences in a way that fosters trust and a sense of safety. Hannah combines legal skill, careful attention to detail, and empathy to effectively advocate on behalf of every client. This advocacy, facilitated through her personal connection with clients, is the most gratifying element of her work. Additionally, Hannah has experience working in a clinical medical setting, volunteering in hospitals, and interning with the states of Illinois and Iowa in coordinating medical care for uninsured and underinsured individuals. These experiences have provided Hannah with a crucial understanding of the complex medical and insurance systems that can be overwhelming to individuals seeking redress in the legal system.

Hannah holds a Certificate in Advocacy from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She also obtained a Certificate in Mediation and successfully mediated numerous cases at the Circuit Court of Cook County, where she assisted parties in reaching resolution outside of trial. Through mediation, she learned that thoroughly understanding the positions and motives of opposing parties is crucial to effective advocacy.
